INDIANER INUIT: DAS NORDAMERIKA FILMFESTIVAL is a unique film festival in Europe. It will be held for the 7th time from January 18-21, 2018 under the theme: UP/RISE – EARTH AND WATER. Located at TREFFPUNKT Rotebuehlplatz (vhs Stuttgart), the festival presents films made by Native American and First Nations directors, actors, and screenwriters. With powerful stories, humor, and fascinating pictures, past and present come together on screen! Mutual respect, appreciation, and curiosity for North America’s cultural diversity are fundamental for cultural exchange.

The festival motto – UP/RISE – EARTH AND WATER points out the importance of access to clean drinking water, especially for indigenous peoples. All the different issues the films address – from human relationships to ecological topics – ultimately concern us all. As always, we expect to welcome unusual guests. Prizes will be awarded for the best films.
