KANADATREFF FAMILY Summer Party – ein großer Erfolg
Am 02. September feierte der KANADATREFF zusammen mit der DKG Rhein-Ruhr die diesjährige Family Summer Party in Düsseldorf. Und viele Gäste kamen aus nah und fern. Wir freuten uns unter anderem über den Besuch von Claudia aus Magdeburg, die sich auf den langen Weg nach Düsseldorf machte. Desweiteren freuten wir uns über die Teilnahme von Stefan Rizor, den Vorstandsvorsitzenden sowie Michael Siebold, den Präsidenten der Deutsch-Kanadischen Gesellschaft. Desweiteren nahmen auch in diesem Jahr wieder viele „echte“ Canadians an der Feier teil. Und der KANADATREFF Wanderpokal ging dieses Mal an Hans Harald Grimm, den Regionaldirektor der DKG Rhein-Ruhr. Freuen darf sich auch das Canadian Red Cross über eine Spende von 60 Euro, die wir bei einer Veräußerungsaktion von älteren Kanada-Reiseführern entgegen nehmen durften. Allen Spendern danken wir an dieser Stelle ganz herzlich. In Kürze werden wir auch ein paar Bilder veröffentlichen, die von Soeren Loth (Lotuscrew) erstellt wurden. Wer noch Bilder von der Veranstaltung hat, darf sie uns gerne zur Verfügung stellen, falls wir sie ebenfalls mit auf unserer Webseite einstellen dürfen. Und zuguterletzt möchten wir uns auch ganz herzlich bei unseren Unterstützern bedanken: bei Air Canada, bei der Kanadischen Botschaft in Berlin sowie der SK Touristik GmbH in Senden. Wir freuen uns schon jetzt auf die nächste Family Summer Party im Jubiläumsjahr 2018. Denn der KANADATREFF feiert dann sein 10jähriges Bestehen.
„Auf in die Welt“-Messe in der Kanadischen Botschaft am 16. September 2017
Jugendliche, die sich für eine Bildungsreise oder einen längeren Aufenthalt im Ausland interessieren, können sich am 16. September in der Botschaft von Kanada in Berlin während der jährlichen „Auf in die Welt“-Messe über Schulbesuche, Studienmöglichkeiten, Sprachreisen, Praktika und „Working Holiday“ informieren. Darüber hinaus halten Experten Vorträge über die verschiedenen Wege in die Welt und deren Finanzierung.
Schirmherr der Messe ist Kanadas Botschafter Stéphane Dion. Die Messe läuft von 10 bis 16 Uhr in der Botschaft von Kanada, Leipziger Platz 17 (U/S-Bahn Potsdamer Platz). Der Eintritt ist frei.

Dresden Maple Meeting – Nächstes Event am Donnerstag, 21. September 2017 – Änderung der Location
Für unsere Canada Lovers und Canadians in Sachsen und Umgebung bieten wir in Kooperation mit dem Dresden Maple Meeting (DMM) regelmäßige Treffen an. Reeperbahn-Festival mit Gastland KANADA in Hamburg vom 20. bis 23. September 2017
Vom 20.-23. September 2017 zeigt das Reeperbahn Festival über 800 Programmpunkte unterschiedlicher Genres rund um die Hamburger Reeperbahn. Seit seinem Debüt im Jahr 2006 hat sich das Reeperbahn Festival zu einem der wichtigsten Treffpunkte für die Musikwirtschaft weltweit entwickelt und zeigt als Europas größtes Clubfestival eine breite Palette an aufstrebenden Künstlern.
Neben rund 500 Konzerten internationaler Künstler in unterschiedlichsten Spielstätten, umfasst das Festivalprogramm Formate aus der Bildenden Kunst sowie ein Film- und Literaturprogramm. Der Training Day ermöglicht Festivalgästen an Programmen rund um den Einstieg in die Musikwirtschaft teilzunehmen. Das Konferenzprogramm des Reeperbahn Festivals richtet sich an Fachbesucher der Musik- und kreativen Digitalwirtschaft und umfasst Sessions, Showcases, Networking Events oder Award-Verleihungen.
Partnerland in 2017 ist Kanada. Die CIMA (Canadian Independent Music Association) und ihre kanadischen Musik-Exportbüros zeigen die kanadische Musikszene in Konzerten, Sessions und Networkings. Mit freundlicher Unterstützung der Foundation Assisting Canadian Talent on Recordings (FACTOR), der kanadischen Regierung und der Ontario Media Development Corporation (OMDC).

KANADATAG der SK Touristik GmbH in Neuss am 15. Oktober 2017
„Wie ein Kurzurlaub in Kanada!“ – das begeisterte Resümee einer Besucherin bringt das Prinzip der Kanada-Tage von SK Touristik auf den Punkt.
Wird es Herbst, wird es Zeit für die Kanadatage von SK Touristik.
Mit fünf Diashows in Multivisionstechnik über alle Provinzen Kanadas und Workshops unseres Teams über Reisearten und – Möglichkeiten im Ahornland. Ganztägig im Foyer: Die Kanada-Reisemesse mit Infoständen von kanadischen Provinzen und Partnern sowie Live-Musik. Am SK-Stand beraten Sie unsere Kanada-Experten persönlich. Auch für das Kulinarische wird gesorgt. Und einmalige Kanadareisen gibt es auch wieder zu gewinnen!
Auch die Deutsch-Kanadische Gesellschaft e. V. wird erstmalig bei der Veranstaltung als Aussteller mit vor Ort dabei sein. Abiturienten sowie Studenten können sich unter anderem vor Ort über das WSP-Programm (einem Work & Travel-Programm) der DKG informieren.

Night of Canadian Music mit Morgan Finlay (CAN) in der Fifibar, Köln am 25. Oktober 2017
Die Night of Canadian Music – organisiert von der Deutsch-Kanadischen Gesellschaft – wird am Mittwoch, 25. Oktober, in der fiffi-Bar (www.fiffibar.de) in Köln stattfinden. Pre-Christmas Dinner in Königswinter am 24. November 2017 – SAVE THE DATE
Zum 17. Mal werden sich die rheinischen Kanada-Fans zum traditionellen „Pre-Christmas-Dinner“ treffen.
Am Freitag, dem 24. November kommen wir um 18 Uhr im Weinhaus Bredershof in Königswinter zusammen. Neben den Mitgliedern der DKG Region Rheinland schließen sich dieses Mal auch die Mitglieder der Region Rhein-Ruhr sowie die Freundinnen und Freunde vom KANADATREFF-Düsseldorf an. Auch 360°-Kanada-Leserinnen und Leser, Canada Lovers und Canadians sind herzlich willkommen.
Das Weinhaus befindet in der Nähe des Bahnhofes Königswinter-Niederdollendorf, ist somit mit DB-Bahn und ÖPNV erreichbar.

KANADATREFF FAMILY Summer Party – a great success
The KANADATREFF and the DKG Rhein-Ruhr celebrated the traditional Family Summer Party at the restaurant Krevets in Düsseldorf on September 2, 2017. And lots of guests from near and far followed our invitation. Claudia from Magdeburg was our guest who had the longest way do Düsseldorf. We also had the honour to welcome Stefan Rizor (chairman of the DKG) and Michael Siebold (president of the DKG). And we were proud to welcome also some „real Canadians“ at the Krevets. Hans Harald Grimm, the regional director of the DKG Rhein-Ruhr got the challenge cup this year. Furthermore the Canadian Red Cross will receive a donation of 60 Euro. We got the donation while offering travel books about Canada for a good cause. We all thank the donors for their contribution. Shortly we also will publish some photos from the event on our website, made by Sören Loth (Lotuscrew), who also supported us on our Canada Day Party in Düsseldorf last year. If you also have some photos from the event, you are heartily invited to share the photos with us. Please send them to fotos@kanadatreff.com if you allow us to publish them, too! And finally we would like to thank our supporters: Air Canada, the Canadian Embassy in Berlin and SK Touristik in Senden. We are looking for a fantastic Summer Party in 2018, which will be our 10th anniversary year.
Dresden Maple Meeting – Next event on September 21 – change of location
As you know, we also offer regular meetings for Canada lovers and Canadians in Saxony and the environment together with the Dresden Maple Meeting (DMM). Karin and Karl Bey are your hosts and they are looking forward to welcome you! The next Dresden Maple Meeting will be at the Edelweiss Alpenrestaurant, An der Frauenkirche 7, 01067 Dresden on Thursday, September 21 starting at 6:30 pm. All participants are requested to register via e-Mail to Karin (contact@sprachendienst-bey.de ). By the way, on the occasion of our latest meeting at the Canadian embassy celebrating Canada’s 150th anniversary, we thought about collecting new ideas of how to make our meeting even more interesting. Reeperbahn-Festival with guest country CANADA in Hamburg from September 20-23, 2017
Come and join the Reeperbahn Festival in Hamburg with about 800 programme items of various genres at the Reeperbahn. Since his debut in 2006 the Reeperbahn Festival has developped to one of the most important meeting places for the music industry worldwide and shows a huge range of aspiring artists. It´s also Europe´s largest Clubfestival.
Beside 500 concerts of international artists in different venues, the festival programm includes formates of visual arts as well as a film- and literature programm. The Training Day enables guests of the festival to participate at the program concerning the entry for the music business. The conference program is dedicated to professional visitors of the music- and creative digital economy and includes sessions, showcases, networking events as well as award presentations.

KANADATAG organized by SK Touristik GmbH in Neuss on October 15
„Like a short holiday in Canada!“ – the thrilled feedback of a visitor of the KANADATAG organized by SK Touristik.
We are back! With five slideshows in multivision technology about all provinces of Canada and workshops about forms of travel and travel opportunities in the maple country. All day in the foyer: the Canada travel fair with information desks from Canadian provinces and partners and live music. At the desk of SK Touristik you will be personally advised by Canada experts. Culinary delights are also offered. And you can win unique Canada tours.
Also the DKG, the German-Canadian Association is exhibitor at this event! So you will be informed about the Work & Travel Programm (which is called WSP Programm) for all German students and Abiturienten.

The Night of Canadian Music – organized by the German-Canadian Association (DKG) – will take place at the Fifi-Bar (www.fiffibar.de) in Cologne on October 25, 2017. Pre-Christmas Dinner in Königswinter on November 24, 2017 – SAVE THE DATE
The Canada-Fans from the Rhineland will meet for the 17th time for the traditional „Pre-Christmas-Dinner“.
On Friday, November 24, 2017 we will meet at 6 pm. at the Weinhaus Bredershof in Königswinter. Besides the members of the DKG Region Rhineland also the members of the DKG Region Rhein-Ruhr als well as the friends of the KANADATREFF network will come together. So Canada Lovers and Canadians are heartily welcome.
The Weinhaus is located close to the railway station Königswinter-Niederdollendorf, and so it can be reached by train and by public transport.
The DKG summer job students will report about their Canada experiences. Everyone who is interested in a stay abroad in Canada, can establish contacts here.
6 pm: arrival – reception with a „colored tray“ – beer, sparkling wine, secco, soft – but also mulled wine (€ 3,00) and alcoholfree punch (€ 2,50)
7 pm: dinner at the vault cellar (Gewölbekeller)
