Es gibt immer wieder den Wunsch, Aktivitäten für Canada Lovers und Canadians in weiteren Regionen anzubieten. Der KANADATREFF unterstützt die Idee, einen KANADATREFF Aachen zu gründen. Die Aktivitäten vom KANADATREFF Aachen würden in Aachen stattfinden und sind für Canada Lovers genauso wie für Canadians aus Aachen und dem Dreiländereck. Dieses wurde auf dem 360° KANADA-Tag in Bergheim beschlossen.

150 Jahre KANADA – Veranstaltung im Anglo-German Club in Hamburg am 16. Juni 2017 (Anmeldeschluss 10.06.2017)

Die Deutsch-Kanadische Gesellschaft und Herr Dr. Farhad Vladi veranstalten am 16. Juni 2017 ab 17 Uhr im Anglo-German Club, An der Außenalster, Harvestehuder Weg 44, 20149 Hamburg den 150. Geburtstag von KANADA. Die Feier wird moderiert von dem bekannten Fernsehmoderator Jörg Pilawa. Musikalisch durch den Abend führt der Kanada-Fan und bekannte Pianist Joja Wendt. Es gibt Fingerfood und Getränke. Ende ist gegen 20.00 Uhr, danach darf man auf eigene Kosten gerne im Anglo-German Club weiter verweilen. DKG-Jahrestreffen 2017 – 150 Jahre Kanada vom 30. Juni – 02. Juli 2017 in Berlin (Anmeldeschluss: 08. Juni 2017)

Das Organisationsteam der DKG Regionalgruppe Berlin+Brandenburg war zuletzt unermüdlich im Einsatz und nun endlich steht es, das Programm des diesjährigen Deutsch-Kanadischen Wochenendes in Berlin, das anlässlich des 150. Geburtstages Kanadas am 01. Juli in diesem Jahr ganz besonders wird. Auch freuen wir uns, diesen Tag gemeinsam mit der Botschaft von Kanada in Deutschland zu feiern. Und natürlich freuen uns wir uns auf zahlreiche Kanadafreunde.

Das Programm lautet wie folgt:

Freitag, 30. Juni
Ab 19:00 Uhr „Warm-up“-Treffen aller DKG-Mitglieder, die schon in Berlin (eingetroffen) sind.

Sommerfest KANADATREFF Stuttgart am 10. Juni 2017

Wie beim letzten Treffen schon angekündigt würden wir dieses Jahr gerne ein kleines Sommerfest bzw. Grillabend veranstalten am 10. Juni 2017 um 16:00 Uhr. Ort ist der DSF Nellingen in der Vogelsangstr. 22 in 73760 Westfildern-Nellingen. Bei einem gemeinsamen Grillen wollen wir uns wieder über unser Lieblingsthema Kanada unterhalten! KANADATREFF Düsseldorf am 21. Juni 2017 – Canada Day Countdown

Wir haben für den nächsten KANADATREFF in Düsseldorf einen neuen Termin fixiert. Genau zehn Tage vor dem Canada Day. Also läuten wir den Canada Day Countdown (kurz CCC ein). Wir treffen uns am 21. Juni um 18 Uhr (an einem MITTWOCH!!!) im Biergarten RheinBlick 33, direkt am Rheinufer gelegen, in unmittelbarer Nähe zu den Rheinterrassen. Der 21. Juni ist übrigens auch Canada´s National Aboriginal Day!

Dieser Biergarten ist mit öffentlichen Transportmitteln (U78 und U79 bis Victoriaplatz / Klever Straße) gut zu erreichen. Von der Haltestelle sind es etwa 10 Minuten Fussweg. Ebenso befindet sich in unmittelbarer Nähe ein größerer Parkplatz am Rheinufer. Es gibt verschiedenste Getränke (natürlich auch alkoholfrei) und verschiedenste Gerichte. Wir können leider keine Platzreservierung vor Ort machen! Aber wir finden uns garantiert.

Bei schlechtem Wetter ist der Biergarten leider geschlossen. Daher werden wir Euch in diesem Fall telefonisch kontaktieren (oder per E-Mail) und mit Euch eine kurzfristige Alternative besprechen. Am besten meldet Euch per E-Mail (duesseldorf@kanadatreff.com) an und teilt uns Eure Kontaktdaten mit. Es wäre schön, wenn ihr zahlreich dabei seid.

KANADATREFF FAMILY Summer Party in Düsseldorf am 02. September 2017 – Save the date

Am 02. September 2017 wird unsere traditionelle KANADATREFF FAMILY Summer Party in Düsseldorf stattfinden.

Die Veranstaltungsadresse ist erneut das Restaurant Krevets, Steinkaul 3, 40589 Düsseldorf

Das Krevets ist ein gemütliches Restaurant mit Biergarten. Die Terasse ist überdacht. Parkplätze sind fußläufig vorhanden. Im Biergarten könnte ein kleiner Infostand aufgebaut werden. Zu erreichen ist das Krevets mit den Buslinien 835 (Alt-Himmelgeist) und 731 (Himmelgeist, Friedhof bzw. Am Scheitenweg).

Patrick Loy, der Chefkoch des Hauses, wird wieder – wie schon in den letzten Jahren – ein sehr leckeres BBQ-Menü für Euch erstellen. Wir werden Euch hier über die Details auf den Laufenden halten.

Selbstverständlich sind auch Eure Freunde, Bekannte, Famillienangehörige und weitere Freundinnen und Freunde Kanadas herzlich willkommen. Für die Anreise empfehlen wir Fahrgemeinschaften zu bilden! 150 Years of Canada – Event at the Anglo-German Club in Hamburg on June 16, 2017 – Deadline: June 10, 2017!!!

The German-Canadian Association (DKG) and Dr. Farhad Vladi will invite you to the celebration of Canada´s 150th birthday in Hamburg on June 16, 2017. The location will be the Anglo-German Club, An der Außenalster, Harvestehuder Weg 44, 20149 Hamburg. The event starts at 5 pm and is moderated by the famous TV moderator Jörg Pilawa. Joja Wendt a famous pianist and also a big fan of Canada will entertain you, too! Fingerfood and drinks are served. The end is around 8 pm. DKG-Annual Meeting 2017 – Canada 150 Years in Berlin from June 30, 2017 until July 2, 2017- Deadline: June 8, 2017

The organizing team of the DKG regional group Berlin & Brandenburg has been tirelessly in use and finally the official program of the annual German-Canadian weekend in Berlin has been released, on the occasion of the 150^th Birthday of Canada. It will be a special event. And we are happy to celebrate this day together with the Embassy of Canada to Germany in Berlin. And we are looking forward to celebrate with Canada Lovers and Canadians.

Meetup For Canadians: Sunday Brunch in Düsseldorf on June 11, 2017 CANCELLED

Due to the low demand for the Sunday Brunch we cancelled the event. We are looking forward to anounce some other activites in the near future.

As you know, we also offer regular meetings for Canada lovers and Canadians in Saxony and the environment together with the Dresden Maple Meeting (DMM). KANADATREFF Düsseldorf on June 21, 2017: Canada Day Countdown

We fixed another KANADATREFF date for Düsseldorf. Exactly 10 days before Canada Day. So we are going to start with the Canada Day Countdown (short: CCC). This time we will meet at the beergarten Rheinblick 33 close to the Rheinterrassen at the Rhine on June 21, 2017 at 6 pm (on a WEDNESDAY) . June 21 is also Canada´s National Aboriginal Day!

The beergarden is easy accessible with public transport (U78 and U79 up to the stop Victoriaplatz / Klever Straße). From there it´s just a short walk (approx. 10 minutes) to the venue. There is also a big parking lot close to the venue close to the Rheinterrassen. Food and drinks are available at this self-service beergarden. Please consider, that we cannot make any reservation at the venue, but we are sure: We will find each other.

If the weather conditions are worse the beergarden is closed. In this case we are going to contact you either by phone / mobile or by e-mail in order to fix some alternatives. Maybe the best solution is to register via e-mail (duesseldorf@kanadatreff.com) with your contact data (e-mail and phone / mobile number). We are looking forward to seeing you soon!

This year will celebrate our traditional KANADATREFF FAMILY Summer Party in Düsseldorf on September 2, 2017.

The venue is Restaurant Krevets Steinkaul 3, 40589 Düsseldorf

The “Krevets” is a comfy restaurant with a beergarden. And it has a roofed terracy. Parking area is available within walking distance. A small information desk can be built up in the beergarden. You can reach the “Krevets” by bus with line 835 (exit: Alt-Himmelgeist) and 731 (exit: Himmelgeist, Friedhof or Am Scheitenweg).

Patrick Loy, Maitre de la Cuisine of the Krevets, will – once again – create a delicous BBQ-Menu for you. We will keep you updated about the details soon!

KANADATREFF Rhein-Nahe

Es gibt immer wieder den Wunsch, Aktivitäten für Canada Lovers und Canadians in weiteren Regionen anzubieten. Der KANADATREFF unterstützt die Idee, einen KANADATREFF Rhein-Nahe zu gründen, der sich – wie schon der KANADATREFF Stuttgart, der KANADATREFF Düsseldorf sowie wie dem Dresden MapleMeeting – regelmäßig trifft. Die Aktivitäten vom KANADATREFF Rhein-Nahe würden im Raum Bad Kreuznach / Bingen / Ingelheim stattfinden und sind für Canada Lovers genauso wie für Canadians.

360° KANADATAG in Bergheim bei Köln am 14. Mai 2017 – SAVE THE DATE

2017 ist ein ganz besonderes Jahr für das zweitgrößte Land der Erde. Am 1. Juli ist es 150 Jahre her, dass sich die Kanadische Konföderation gegründet hat.

360° Kanada und die Deutsch-Kanadische Gesellschaft (DKG) feiern mit und präsentieren am 14. Mai 2017 das Traumreiseland Kanada in all‘ seinen Facetten im Medio.Rhein.Erft in Bergheim bei Köln. Drei Multivisionsshows der Kanada-Experten Elvira und Hans G. Pfaff über den Westen, den Osten und den Norden Kanadas, über 20 Vorträge insbesondere zu Reisethemen, eine abwechslungsreiche Ausstellung mit einer Vielzahl von Kanada-Anbietern sowie kulturelle und kulinarische Highlights aus Kanada werden die Besucher der Veranstaltung kurzweilig unterhalten. Musikalisch sorgt der kanadische Singer/Songwriter Morgan Finlay aus Vancouver während des gesamten Events für kanadischen Flair.

Der 360° Kanada-Tag 2017 präsentiert dabei das Land mit einem Schwerpunkt auf den Thema Reisen, Work & Travel, aber auch Schul- und Studienaufenthalte, Auswanderung, Kultur und Produkte aus Kanada finden ihren Platz. Somit bietet der 360° Kanada-Tag 2017 passend zum Konzept der 360°-Magazinreihe eine Rundum-Betrachtung der Destination Kanada.

Der Eintrittspreis für den 360° Kanada-Tag 2017 beträgt im Vorverkauf 15 €. Bestellt Euch die Tickets hier! Mitglieder der DKG und Abonnenten des Magazins 360° Kanada nehmen kostenfrei teil (Tickets wurden mit der Ausgabe 2/2017 von 360° Kanada an Abonnenten und Mitglieder verschickt).

Alle zahlenden Besucher erhalten zudem kostenfrei die 360° Kanada Spezialausgabe „Canada 150“ mit 150 Reisetipps aus allen Provinzen und Territorien sowie viel Wissenswertem über das zweitgrößte Land der Erde im Wert von 7,50 €.

Die Deutsch-Kanadische Gesellschaft e.V., CSSG (Canadian Summer School in Germany) und Berlasco – Berlin Language School laden Sie herzlich ein zu:

Die Regionalgruppe Berlin und Brandenburg der DKG (www.dkg-online.de) sowie Mitarbeiter und internationale Sprachstudenten von Berlasco – Berlin Language School (www.berlasco.de ; www.fb.com/berlasco) möchten nun schon zum vierten Mal seit 2014 eine Gruppe von 50 Deutsch-Studierenden aus ganz Kanada, ihre Deutsch-Dozenten hier in Berlin willkommen heißen.

Für die Canadian Summer School in Germany (www.cssg.ca), das 2013 sein 40. Bestehen feierte, können sich Deutsch-Studierende aus ganz Kanada anmelden. In nur sechs Wochen können sie in diesem sehr intensiven Programm auf unterschiedlichen Sprachniveaus einen kompletten Semesterkurs in Deutscher Sprache absolvieren. Die Canadian Summer School in Germany findet alljährlich von Mai bis Juni in Kassel statt und beinhaltet mehrere Exkursionen: Eine davon führt CSSG auch in diesem Jahr nach Berlin.

Dieses Jahr werden auch wieder einige Teilnehmerinnen und Teilnehmer der Sommeruniversität „e3 in Berlin“ der University of Alberta und die Leiterin dieses Programms, Henriette Klose, zu Gast sein. e3 steht für experience 3 – Sprache, Praktikum und akademischer Kurs – und findet von Mai bis August 2017 in Kooperation mit der Freien Universität Berlin statt

Im Mai wird den e3-Studierenden aus verschiedenen kanadischen Universitäten und unterschiedlichen Fachrichtungen ein Intensivsprachkurs Deutsch im International House der FU angeboten. Im Juni und Juli absolvieren die Studierenden ein Praktikum. Ein Großteil von ihnen nimmt dann im August an einem der diesjährigen Fachkurse „Critical Design: Practice, Place & Space“ (Aidan Rowe) oder „Contemporary Comics in Berlin“ (David Lewkowich) teil, die erneut an der FU unterrichtet werden.

Folgende Specials werden am 31. Mai in der Vagabund Brauerei geboten: Berlasco und DKG e.V. spendieren allen Teilnehmerinnen und Teilnehmern ein Willkommensbier – in diesem Jahr das edle American Pale Ale der Vagabund Brauerei und das bereits international ausgezeichnete Pils einer süddeutschen Meisterbrauerei!

Die Braumeister von Vagabund präsentieren ihr komplettes Angebot eigener Craft-Beer-Kreationen und weitere internationale Biersorten (Jeder bestellt und zahlt selbst!).

Die Gründer und Mitarbeiter von Berlasco und Vagabund stehen allen Gästen für Fragen zu ihren Firmenkonzepten, Produkten und der Berliner Gründerszene zur Verfügung.

DKG-Mitglieder informieren die Deutsch-Studierenden aus Kanada und alle anderen Gäste über die Deutsch-Kanadische Gesellschaft e.V., deren Aufgaben und Aktivitäten.

Die anwesenden Berliner beantworten Fragen zur Stadt und zum Leben in Berlin und geben den jungen Kanadierinnen und Kanadiern Tipps fürs Berliner Nachtleben und für weitere Aktivitäten während ihres Aufenthaltes in unserer Hauptstadt.

Sometimes we receive the request to offer Canada activities also in other regions. The KANADATREFF network supports the idea to establish a new KANADATREFF Rhein-Nahe, which meets regular like the KANADATREFF Stuttgart, the KANADATREFF Düsseldorf as well as the Dresden MapleMeeting. The activities of our new KANADATREFF Rhein-Nahe will take place in the area Bad Kreuznach / Bingen / Ingelheim and of course Canada Lovers and Canadians are heartily invited to join.

360° KANADATAG in Bergheim bei Köln am 14. Mai 2017 – SAVE THE DATE

2017 will be a very special year for the world´s second largest country. On July 1st it will be 150 years ago, when the Canadian Confederation was founded.

360° Kanada and the Deutsch-Kanadische Gesellschaft (DKG) (German Canadian Association) will organize this special event for Canada Lovers and Canadians and present the dream country Canada in all its facets at Medio.Rhein.Erft in Bergheim close to Cologne on May 14, 2017. Three multivision shows made by the Canada experts Elvira and Hans G. Pfaff about the West, the East and the North of Canada. More than 20 presentations about travel topics, a diversified exhibition with a numerous of Canada travel operators as well as cultural and culinary highlights from Canada will entertain all visitors of this event. The Canadian Singer / Songwriter Morgan Finlay from Vancouver will guarantee also a Canadian atmosphere during the whole event.

The 360° Kanada-Tag 2017 presents the country with a focus on the topic of Travel, Work & Travel, as well as school camps and study visits, emigration, culture and products from Canada will find its places. Therefore the 360° Kanada-Tag 2017 will offer a 360-view of the Destination Canada – which fits to the concept of the 360°-media series.

Tickets for this 360° Kanada-Tag 2017 can be purchased in advance for only 15 € .Get your tickets here! Members of the DKG (German Canadian Association) and paying subscribers of the magazin 360° Kanada will participate free of charge (tickets are sent to them with the 360° Kanada edition 2/2017.

All paying visitors will get the special edition „Canada 150“ with 150 travel tips from all provinces and territories as well as interesting facts about the world´s second largest country free (value: 7,50 €).

During the 360° Kanada-Tags 2017 a Canada-Quiz with a raffle will be organized. The winner of the first prize will get a free Canada flight for two persons (further prizes are a package of wine, annual subscription of 360° Kanada, Canada-calendars, books and culinary prizes).

The German-Canadian Association, the CSSG (Canadian Summer School in Germany) and Berlasco – Berlin Language School are inviting you to:

The regional group Berlin and Brandenburg of the German-Canadian Association DKG (www.dkg-online.de) as well as staff and international language students of Berlasco – Berlin Language School (www.berlasco.de ; www.fb.com/berlasco) will welcome a group of 50 German-Language Students from Canada for the 4th time.

These specials are offered on May 31, 2017 at the Vagabund Brauerei: Berlasco and the DKG e.V. are offering all participants one welcome beer – this year it will be the elegant American Pale Ale made by the Vagabund Brauerei and the already international awarded Pils of a South-German brewery.

The brewing master will present the whole product range of own craft-Beer-creations and further international sorts of beer (everyone orders and pays for it).

The founders and the staff of Berlasco and Vagabund will answer all questions concerning the company concepts, products and about the Berlin start-ups.

Members of the DKG will inform the German-Language students from Canada and all other guests about the German-Canadian Association, their tasks and activities.

And each „Berliner“ will answer open questions concerning the city about life in Berlin and will give some good advice to the young Canadians about Berlin´s nightlife and further more activities for their stay in the capital.

Meetup For Canadians: Sunday Brunch in Düsseldorf on June 11, 2017

We fixed another date for a new „Meetup For Canadians in Düsseldorf“. Let´s meet for a Sunday brunch at the Medienhafen on June 11, 2017 at the Eigelstein, Hammer Str. 19 at 10 am.

The brunch is available until 2 pm so you need not get up early. Enjoy the brunch and enjoy the exchange with other Canadians. And maybe you are about to gather some ideas for common events (i. e. Thanksgiving Dinner) and for other regular „Meetup For Canadians“ events.

The costs for the brunch are 18,00 € / person, , the costs for kids from 6 to 12 years are 9,00 € / each, kids up to five years are free.

And when the weather is good we can walk along the Rhine promenade and finally do for example a panorama boat trip or a boat trip to Kaiserswerth with the White Fleet (Weiße Flotte). It is up to you! All Canadians are heartily welcome!

We are looking forward to seeing you!!! A registration is required as we made a reservation for 10 participants at the Eigelstein. If there is a growing demand we can ask for more space. Please send your registration to info@kanadatreff.com. The deadline is June 6, 2017!
