Wir hoffen sehr, dass es Euch gut geht, und dass ihr Euch mit uns auf den Beginn des Frühlings freut. Und im März stehen schon wieder zahlreiche KANADA-Veranstaltungen an. Daher: Save the date(s).

Expat in the City – eine Veranstaltung für Expats in München am 12. März 2017

Am 12. März sind Expats aus der Region München ganz herzlich zu der Veranstaltung „Expat in the City – einer internationalen Messe“ eingeladen. Diese findet statt in der BMW Welt, Am Olympiapark 1. Die kostenlosen Tickets gibt es hier: http://www.expatinthecity.de/tickets/ Auch die Deutsch-Kanadische Gesellschaft wird am Stand P10 vertreten sein. Rheinisches Canadian-Maple Table Dinner der DKG Rheinland in Bonn am Freitag, 17. März 2017 ab 19 Uhr

Alljährlich treffen sich die rheinischen Kanada-Fans und Canadians anlässlich der kanadischen Wochen im Bonner Restaurant Bundeshäuschen:

Domaine Felibre & Burrowing Owl meet Düsseldorf – Ice Cidre & Wine-Tasting am 18. März 2017

Unsere Freundinnen Catherine und Jeanne von Domaine Félibre aus Stanstead in Québec sowie Sophie Laurent von der Burrowing Owl Estates Winery aus Oliver in BC präsentieren am 18. März 2017 ab 16:00 Uhr im Stilwerk, Grünstraße 15 in Düsseldorf ihre leckeren qualitativ hochwertigen Produkte. Domaine Félibre und Burrowing Owl sind die einzigen kanadischen Aussteller bei der Verkostung der Champagner Galerie. Und wir garantieren: Es lohnt sich dabei zu sein. Eintritt: 5 Euro für das Verkostungsglas.

Domaine Félibre liegt 425 m ü. d. M., in den Hochkantonen, die zur Region West-Barnston (Quebec/ Canada) gehören, zwischen Stanstead und Coaticook. Von dem Gut aus genießt man ein herrliches Panorama. Der Blick reicht vom Mount Orford bis zu den Ausläufern der Appalachen.

Der Reichtum des Landes und das einzigartige Klima dieser Region, dazu die Erfahrung und Expertise unserer Kellermeisterin lassen in den Fässern von Domaine Felibre Qualitätsprodukte von höchster Güte reifen: Weine, Liköre und Eisapfelwein. Unnachahmlich ist unser Givré (Eisapfelwein), der von uns mit höchster Sorgfalt ausgebaut wird.

Der Familienbetrieb wurde 1998 gegründet. Von der Apfelwiese bis zur Abfüllung werden unsere Produkte in traditoneller Weise hergestellt. Feinsinnig und raffiniert sind unsere Produkte im Geschmack und haben so Liebhaber und Kunden weit über Canada hinaus gefunden.

Heute vertreibt Domaine Félibre seine Produkte in Quebec, Frankreich, Belgien, Luxemburg und Japan.

Burrowing Owl’s Hauptweinberge (53 Hektar) befinden sich in einer erstklassigen Lage an der östlichen Seite des Okanagan Valleys zwischen Osoyoos und Oliver, British Columbia. Die Black Sage Bank bietet einen guten Hang, eine gute Drainage und eine ideale Sonneneinstrahlung. Trauben, die an diesem Hang gewachsen sind, haben bereits lokale und internationale Anerkennung gleichermaßen angezogen. Evas Weinberg (11 ha) liegt auf einer Süd-West-Lage oberhalb des Osoyoos-Sees und nur einen Steinwurf von der US-Grenze entfernt! Der Kereos Weinberg (10 Hektar) wird auf den sanften, südwestlichen Kieshängen im kühleren Similkameen-Tal gepflanzt und bietet klassische Bedingungen für Sauvignon-Blanc. Alle Weine werden aus angebauten Trauben hergestellt. Alle Trauben werden von Hand aus geerntet.

Weinverkostung-Events mit Marcel Morgenstern und Lou Puglisi in München

Marcel Morgenstern und Lou Puglisi von der Pondview Estate Winery und der Burnt Ship Bay Estate Winery aus dem malerischen Niagara-On-The-Lake laden im März Wine & Canada Lovers unter anderem nach München ein. Hier sind die zwei Termine:

Dresden Maple Meeting – Nächstes Event am Donnerstag, 23. März 2017

360° KANADATAG in Bergheim bei Köln am 14. Mai 2017 – SAVE THE DATE

2017 ist ein ganz besonderes Jahr für das zweitgrößte Land der Erde. Am 1. Juli ist es 150 Jahre her, dass sich die Kanadische Konföderation gegründet hat.

360° Kanada und die Deutsch-Kanadische Gesellschaft (DKG) feiern mit und präsentieren am 14. Mai 2017 das Traumreiseland Kanada in all‘ seinen Facetten im Medio.Rhein.Erft in Bergheim bei Köln. Drei Multivisionsshows der Kanada-Experten Elvira und Hans G. Pfaff über den Westen, den Osten und den Norden Kanadas, über 20 Vorträge insbesondere zu Reisethemen, eine abwechslungsreiche Ausstellung mit einer Vielzahl von Kanada-Anbietern sowie kulturelle und kulinarische Highlights aus Kanada werden die Besucher der Veranstaltung kurzweilig unterhalten. Musikalisch sorgt der kanadische Singer/Songwriter Morgan Finlay aus Vancouver während des gesamten Events für kanadischen Flair.

Der 360° Kanada-Tag 2017 präsentiert dabei das Land mit einem Schwerpunkt auf den Thema Reisen, Work & Travel, aber auch Schul- und Studienaufenthalte, Auswanderung, Kultur und Produkte aus Kanada finden ihren Platz. Somit bietet der 360° Kanada-Tag 2017 passend zum Konzept der 360°-Magazinreihe eine Rundum-Betrachtung der Destination Kanada.

Our friends Catherine and Jeanne from Domaine Félibre will invite you to a special Ice Cidre Tasting in Düsseldorf at the Stilwerk, Grünstraße 15 on March 18, 2017 starting at 4 pm. Come and join the tasting of this great product which won several international awards. Domaine Félibre is one out of two guest exhibitors form Canada at the apart from that french tasting event which is organized by the Champagner Galerie. Burrowing Owl’s main vineyards (130acres / 53ha) are located in a prime location on the eastern side of the Okanagan Valley between Osoyoos and Oliver, British Columbia. The Black Sage bench offers a favourable slope, good drainage, and ideal sun exposure. Grapes grown on this bench have already attracted local and international acclaim alike. Eva’s 30 acre (11ha) vineyard is located on a south-west facing above Osoyoos Lake and a stone’s throw from the US border! The Keremeos 10 acre (4ha) vineyard is planted on the gentle south western gravely slopes in cooler Similkameen valley and offers classic conditions for sauvignon blanc. All our wines are made from estate grown grapes. All our grapes are harvested by hand.

360° KANADATAG in Bergheim bei Köln am 14. Mai 2017 – SAVE THE DATE

2017 will be a very special year for the world´s second largest country. On July 1st it will be 150 years ago, when the Canadian Confederation was founded.

360° Kanada and the Deutsch-Kanadische Gesellschaft (DKG) (German Canadian Association) will organize this special event for Canada Lovers and Canadians and present the dream country Canada in all its facets at Medio.Rhein.Erft in Bergheim close to Cologne on May 14, 2017. Three multivision shows made by the Canada experts Elvira and Hans G. Pfaff about the West, the East and the North of Canada. More than 20 presentations about travel topics, a diversified exhibition with a numerous of Canada travel operators as well as cultural and culinary highlights from Canada will entertain all visitors of this event. The Canadian Singer / Songwriter Morgan Finlay from Vancouver will guarantee also a Canadian atmosphere during the whole event.

The 360° Kanada-Tag 2017 presents the country with a focus on the topic of Travel, Work & Travel, as well as school camps and study visits, emigration, culture and products from Canada will find its places. Therefore the 360° Kanada-Tag 2017 will offer a 360-view of the Destination Canada – which fits to the concept of the 360°-media series.

Tickets for this 360° Kanada-Tag 2017 can be purchased in advance for only 10 € .Get your tickets here!  Members of the DKG (German Canadian Association) and paying subscribers of the magazin 360° Kanada will participate free of charge (tickets will be sent to them with the 360° Kanada edition 2/2017.

All paying visitors will get the special edition „Canada 150“ with 150 travel tips from all provinces and territories as well as interesting facts about the world´s second largest country free (value: 7,50 €).

During the 360° Kanada-Tags 2017 a Canada-Quiz with a raffle will be organized. The winner of the first prize will get a free Canada flight for two persons (further prizes are a package of wine, annual subscription of 360° Kanada, Canada-calendars, books and culinary prizes).

Liebe Reise- und Kanada-Enthusiasten,

wir ihr wisst, feiert Kanada dieses Jahr sein 150 jähriges Bestehen und damit 150 Jahre voll Abenteuer, Vielfalt und Natur.

Die unbändige Natur hat 1976 auch das Banff Centre zur Gründung des gleichnamigen Banff Mountain Film Festivals inspiriert. Dokumentarfilmer und Fotografen aus aller Welt treffen sich seit dem jährlich im Herbst zu den sogenannten „Outdoor-Oscars“, um ihre neuesten Projekte vorzustellen. Die besten Filme gehen im Anschluss auf Welt-Tour und kommen jedes Jahr im Frühjahr auch nach Deutschland, Österreich, in die Schweiz und in die Niederlande. Die Premiere findet am 16. Februar 2017 in München statt und wir freuen uns, den Geist Kanadas in cineastischer Weise izu verbreiten.

Das Programm besteht dieses Jahr aus 8 Dokumetarfilmen mit einer Gesamtlaufzeit von zwei Stunden und punktet mit Abwechslungsreichtum und entführt den Zuschauer auf eine sportliche Reise. Mountainbiken in der kargen Wüste Nevadas, Klettern im polynesischen Dschungel oder Skibergsteigen im Iran – die Banff Tour weckt die Reiselust. Zwei besondere Highlight sind dieses Jahr DOING IT SCARED, ein Kletterportrait über Paul Pritchard, der trotz oder besser mit halbseitiger Lähmung eine Felsnadel an der tasmanischen Küste erklimmt. Oder aber die launige Ruder-Doku FOUR MUMS IN A BOAT, in der vier Vollzeit-Mütter aus Yorkshire kurzerhand beschließen, an einem Ruderrennen über den Atlantik teilzunehmen. Schöne Bilder und noch schönere Geschichten sind garantiert.

Wir hoffen sehr, dass es Euch gut geht, und dass der Februar schon ein paar kanadische Momente für Euch hatte. Die ersten KANADATREFF Aktivitäten in Stuttgart sowie in Düsseldorf wie auch der Neujahrsempfang der Deutsch-Kanadischen Gesellschaft waren sehr gut besucht. Unsere Freundinnen Catherine und Jeanne von Domaine Félibre aus Stanstead in Québec sowie Sophie Laurent von der Burrowing Owl Estates Winery aus Oliver in BC präsentieren am 18. Domaine Félibre liegt 425 m ü. d. M., in den Hochkantonen, die zur Region West-Barnston (Quebec/ Canada) gehören, zwischen Stanstead und Coaticook. Von dem Gut aus genießt man ein herrliches Panorama. Der Blick reicht vom Mount Orford bis zu den Ausläufern der Appalachen.

Burrowing Owl’s Hauptweinberge (53 Hektar) befinden sich in einer erstklassigen Lage an der östlichen Seite des Okanagan Valleys zwischen Osoyoos und Oliver, British Columbia. Die Black Sage Bank bietet einen guten Hang, eine gute Drainage und eine ideale Sonneneinstrahlung. Trauben, die an diesem Hang gewachsen sind, haben bereits lokale und internationale Anerkennung gleichermaßen angezogen. Evas Weinberg (11 ha) liegt auf einer Süd-West-Lage oberhalb des Osoyoos-Sees und nur einen Steinwurf von der US-Grenze entfernt! Der Kereos Weinberg (10 Hektar) wird auf den sanften, südwestlichen Kieshängen im kühleren Similkameen-Tal gepflanzt und bietet klassische Bedingungen für Sauvignon-Blanc. Alle Weine werden aus angebauten Trauben hergestellt. Alle Trauben werden von Hand aus geerntet. Burrowing Owl’s Weine strahlen bei der Kombination mit gastronomischen Genüssen. 360° KANADATAG in Bergheim bei Köln am 14. Mai 2017 – SAVE THE DATE

2017 ist ein ganz besonderes Jahr für das zweitgrößte Land der Erde. Am 1. Juli ist es 150 Jahre her, dass sich die Kanadische Konföderation gegründet hat.

360° Kanada und die Deutsch-Kanadische Gesellschaft (DKG) feiern mit und präsentieren am 14. Mai 2017 das Traumreiseland Kanada in all‘ seinen Facetten im Medio.Rhein.Erft in Bergheim bei Köln. Drei Multivisionsshows der Kanada-Experten Elvira und Hans G. Pfaff über den Westen, den Osten und den Norden Kanadas, über 20 Vorträge insbesondere zu Reisethemen, eine abwechslungsreiche Ausstellung mit einer Vielzahl von Kanada-Anbietern sowie kulturelle und kulinarische Highlights aus Kanada werden die Besucher der Veranstaltung kurzweilig unterhalten. Musikalisch sorgt der kanadische Singer/Songwriter Morgan Finlay aus Vancouver während des gesamten Events für kanadischen Flair.

Der 360° Kanada-Tag 2017 präsentiert dabei das Land mit einem Schwerpunkt auf den Thema Reisen, Work & Travel, aber auch Schul- und Studienaufenthalte, Auswanderung, Kultur und Produkte aus Kanada finden ihren Platz. Somit bietet der 360° Kanada-Tag 2017 passend zum Konzept der 360°-Magazinreihe eine Rundum-Betrachtung der Destination Kanada.

Der Eintrittspreis für den 360° Kanada-Tag 2017 beträgt 15 €. Mitglieder der DKG und Abonnenten des Magazins 360° Kanada nehmen kostenfrei teil (Tickets werden mit der Ausgabe 2/2017 von 360° Kanada an Abonnenten und Mitglieder verschickt).

The Black Sage bench offers a favourable slope, good drainage, and ideal sun exposure. Grapes grown on this bench have already attracted local and international acclaim alike. Eva’s 30 acre (11ha) vineyard is located on a south-west facing above Osoyoos Lake and a stone’s throw from the US border! The Keremeos 10 acre (4ha) vineyard is planted on the gentle south western gravely slopes in cooler Similkameen valley and offers classic conditions for sauvignon blanc. All our wines are made from estate grown grapes. All our grapes are harvested by hand.

360° KANADATAG in Bergheim bei Köln am 14. Mai 2017 – SAVE THE DATE

2017 will be a very special year for the world´s second largest country. On July 1st it will be 150 years ago, when the Canadian Confederation was founded.

360° Kanada and the Deutsch-Kanadische Gesellschaft (DKG) (German Canadian Association) will organize this special event for Canada Lovers and Canadians and present the dream country Canada in all its facets at Medio.Rhein.Erft in Bergheim close to Cologne on May 14, 2017. Three multivision shows made by the Canada experts Elvira and Hans G. Pfaff about the West, the East and the North of Canada. More than 20 presentations about travel topics, a diversified exhibition with a numerous of Canada travel operators  as well as cultural and culinary highlights from Canada will entertain all visitors of this event. The Canadian Singer / Songwriter Morgan Finlay from Vancouver will guarantee also a Canadian atmosphere during the whole event.

The 360° Kanada-Tag 2017 presents the country with a focus on the topic of Travel, Work & Travel, as well as school camps and study visits, emigration, culture and products from Canada will find its places. Therefore the  360° Kanada-Tag 2017 will offer a 360-view of the Destination Canada – which fits to the concept of the 360°-media series.

The entry fee for this 360° Kanada-Tag 2017 is 15 € .Members of the DKG (German Canadian Association) and paying subscribers of the magazin 360° Kanada will participate free of charge (tickets will be sent to them with the 360° Kanada edition 2/2017.

All paying visitors will get the special edition  „Canada 150“ with 150 travel tips from all provinces and territories as well as interesting facts about the world´s second largest country free (value: 7,50 €).

During the 360° Kanada-Tags 2017 a Canada-Quiz with a raffle will be organized. The winner of the first prize will get a free Canada flight for two persons (further prizes are a package of wine, annual subscription of 360° Kanada, Canada-calendars, books and culinary prizes).

Die Regierung von Justin Trudeau hat im ersten Jahr ihrer Amtszeit neue, liberale Akzente gesetzt: in der Wirtschaftspolitik, der Frauenpolitik, der Beziehung Kanadas zu den First Nations und in der Einwanderungspolitik. Trudeau setzt sich für eine enge Partnerschaft und eine Intensivierung der Handelsbeziehungen (CETA) mit Europa ein, während einzelne EU Mitgliedsländer zunehmend nationale Eigeninteressen verfolgen.

In den USA zeichnet sich unter der Regierung Trump eine Fokussierung auf inneramerikanische Interessen (America first) und eine Politik der wirtschaftlichen und politischen Isolation ab. Im Rahmen der NATO erwartet der neue US Präsident unter anderem auch einen stärkeren finanziellen Beitrag Europas zu den Verteidigungsausgaben.

Der Vortrag gibt einen Ausblick auf mögliche, kontroverse Veränderungen in den transatlantischen Beziehungen.

2017 feiert Kanada seinen 150. Geburtstag und Montréal wird 375 Jahre. Daher gibt es an diesem Abend ein Video (etwa 30 Minuten) über Montréal zu sehen! Das Video ist auf englisch!

360° KANADATAG in Bergheim bei Köln am 14. Mai 2017 – SAVE THE DATE

360 Grad Faszination Kanada und die Deutsch-Kanadische Gesellschaft e. V. präsentieren am 14. Mai 2017 das Traumreiseland Kanada in all seinen Facetten im Medio.Rhein.Erft in Bergheim bei Köln.

Drei Multivisionsshows der Kanada-Experten Elvira und Hans G. Pfaff, über 20 Vorträge insbesondere zu Reisethemen, eine abwechslungsreiche Ausstellung mit einer Vielzahl von Kanada-Anbietern sowie kulturelle und kulinarische Highlights aus Kanada werden dem Besucher der Veranstaltung kurzweilig unterhalten. Musikalisch sorgt der kanadische Singer und Songwriter Morgan Finlay aus Vancouver für kanadischen Flair. Weitere Details werden wir Euch in unserem nächsten Newsletter mitteilen. The government of Justin Trudea placed new liberal accents in the first year of his presidency: in the policy of economy, in women´s policy, in the relationship Canada´s towards the First Nations and the immigration policy. Trudeau stands up for a close partnership and an intensification of trade relations (CETA) with Europe, while individual EU members are following national self-interests.

In the United States stands out a focusing to domestic interests (America first) and a policy of economical and political isolation. Within the scope of the NATO the new president of the United States expects a stronger financial contribution from Europe considering the defence expenditures.

The lecture (in German) will give a forecast on possible, controversial changes in the transatlantic relationships.

The event is supported by the Canadian Embassy to Germany, The Poutine Kitchen and Arnecke Sibeth Rechtsanwälte.

KANADATREFF Düsseldorf on Thursday, February 2, 2017 – Montréal is turning 375 years

We fixed of our next official KANADATREFF meeting in Düsseldorf on February 2, 2017 and we are looking forward to seeing you! The meeting will take place at the Restaurant Hirschchen, Alt Pempelfort 2, 40211 Düsseldorf, our traditional location. Starting time is at 7 pm.

In 2017 Canada is celebrating 150 years and Montréal is turning 375 years. That´s why we will show a video about Montréal (duration: 30 minutes). The video will be in English!

Wir hoffen sehr, dass es Euch gut geht. Wir haben inzwischen November. Und schon bald eröffnen die ersten Weihnachtsmärkte. Zeit, um Euch auch über die anstehenden KANADA-Veranstaltungen auf dem Laufenden zu halten. Wir hoffen, dass auch für Euch etwas dabei ist. Daher: Save the Date(s)

„Across the data pond – Analyzing a sea of ocean data“ in Berlin am 17. November 

Zum fünften Mal findet in Berlin am 17. November der German Canadian Concourse statt. Unter dem Titel „Across the data pond – analyzing a sea of ocean data“ werden sich die Teilnehmer dieses Mal mit den Ozeanen beschäftigen.

 Als Meeresanrainer arbeiten Kanada und Deutschland in vielen Bereichen – wissenschaftlich, wirtschaftlich und forschend – zu maritimen Themen zusammen. Sie tauschen Daten und Forschungsergebnisse aus und unterhalten gemeinsame Programme. Die fünfte Auflage des German Canadian Concourse wird sich mit der bestehenden Zusammenarbeit sowie Ausblicken auf zukünftige Partnerschaften in den Feldern Forschung & Entwicklung, Wissenschaft & Innovation sowie „Entrepreneurial eco-systems“ befassen.

 Der German Canadian Concourse fand 2012 zum ersten Mal statt; die Veranstaltung verbindet eine Konferenz mit einer Exkursion. Während der Konferenz können die Teilnehmer sich zu einem transatlantischen Thema austauschen, die Exkursion stellt den praktischen Bezug zum Thema her.

Europa – Nordamerika: Kanada im Wandel am Montag, 12. Dezember 2016 in München

Die Regierung von Justin Trudeau hat im ersten Jahr ihrer Amtszeit neue, liberale Akzente gesetzt: in der Wirtschaftspolitik, der Frauenpolitik, der Beziehung Kanadas zu den First Nations und in der Einwanderungspolitik. Trudeau  zeigt sich flexibel, Widerstände in Europa gegen das geplante Freihandelsabkommen CETA aufzulösen.

In den USA zeichnet sich demgegenüber eine stärkere Konzentration auf inneramerikanische Fragen ab. Das Freihandelsabkommen TTIP ist nicht auf der Agenda der Präsidentschaftskandidaten Trump und Clinton. Im Rahmen der Nord Atlantischen Kooperation erwarten beide Präsidentschaftskandidaten einen stärkeren finanziellen Beitrag Europas.

Der Vortrag gibt einen Ausblick auf mögliche, kontroverse Veränderungen in den transatlantischen Beziehungen.

Im Anschluß an den Vortrag lädt die Deutsch-Kanadische Gesellschaft zu einem Empfang.

Klaus Prömpers ist einer der prominentesten TV Journalisten. Er hat viele Jahre für das ZDF gearbeitet und leitete von 2011 bis 2014 das ZDF Studio in New York.

Seminar „Wirtschaftsstandort Kanada“. In Zusammenarbeit mit Export Development Canada (EDC), der IHK Frankfurt am Main und der Kanadischen Botschaft in Berlin, wird die AHK Kanada ein Seminar zu Chancen und Möglichkeiten im kanadischen Markt veranstalten. Die Vormittags-Veranstaltung wird in den Räumlichkeiten der IHK Frankfurt am Main (Börsenplatz 4) stattfinden. Fokus-Thema wird zudem das Handelsabkommen CETA sein. CIRQUE DU SOLEIL – Amaluna in Düsseldorf und Wien

Der weltbekannte Cirque du Soleil ist wieder in Europa auf Tour.

Die Show Amaluna gibt es in Düsseldorf-Grafental (18. November bis 18. Dezember 2016) und in Wien (10. März 2017 bis 02. April 2017) zu sehen.

Amaluna entführt die Zuschauer auf eine geheimnisvolle Insel, wo Göttinnen herrschen. Deren Königin Prospera inszeniert für ihre Tochter, die zur Frau herangereift ist, ein großes Fest. In einem farbenprächtigen Ritual werden Wissen und Werte so von einer Generation an die nächste weitergegeben.

Nach einem von Prospera heraufbeschworenen Sturm strandet eine Gruppe junger Männer auf der Insel. Diese Ankunft löst eine epische und emotionale Liebesgeschichte zwischen Prosperas Tochter und einem mutigen jungen Verehrer aus. Doch ihre Liebe wird zunächst auf die Probe gestellt. Die beiden sehen sich zahlreichen Herausforderungen gegenüber und müssen Rückschläge überwinden, bevor Vertrauen, Glaube und Harmonie siegen.

„Across the data pond – Analyzing a sea of ocean data“ in Berlin on November 17, 2016

Going into the fifth installment of the German Canadian Concourse series (GCC), in 2016 the GCC ventures into the ocean, discovering a new sea of data generated from disparate sources in globally exploring and monitoring our oceans. The GCC will connect with transatlantic topic-matter experts to explore the use ofcombing and analyzing oceans data and how to couple its scientific research with local and international business eco-systems that can generate larger economic growth through new businesses and enhanced services/products of existing organizations.

Canada and Germany, in particular Atlantic Canada and the maritime states of Germany, are predestined partners in the maritime sector. They already collaborate in various ways in oceans research such as educational exchange programs, shared scientific assets and international R&D programs. At the same time each region has different competencies relating to funding science, spurring corresponding economic growth and applying success models from other related industries. The GCC 2016 will investigate the existing transatlantic collaboration surrounding ocean analytics, while discovering new approaches and maritime opportunities.

The GCC convenes on 17 November 2016 in Berlin (Embassy of Canada) and in Halifax (Cox & Palmer, location TBD) for a Transatlantic Symposium, interconnected via video conferencing.

The Field Trip locations are: Airbus Defence & Space Intelligence and Geoforschungszentrum, Potsdam, as well as Centre for Ocean Ventures & Entrepreneurship, Dartmouth

The new government of Justin Trudeau has set new liberal priorities in the first 360 days: in the economical-, in women´s policy, in the relationship towards the First Nations and also in the immigration policy. 

In the United States on the other hand you have more the concentration on internal american questions. TTIP is not on the agenda of either Trump or Clinton. Within the scope of the Northern Atlantic Cooperation both candidates expect a higher financial contribution made from Europe.

CIRQUE DU SOLEIL – Amaluna in Düsseldorf and Vienna

The world-famous „Cirque du Soleil“ is back on tour in Europe. The show Amaluna will be in Düsseldorf-Grafental (November 18 until December 18, 2016) and in Vienna in 2017( March 10 until April 2).

The show Amaluna invites the audience to a mysterious island governed by Goddesses and guided by the cycles of the moon. Their queen, Prospera, directs her daughter’s coming-of-age ceremony in a rite that honours femininity, renewal, rebirth and balance which marks the passing of these insights and values from one generation to the next. In the wake of a storm caused by Prospera, a group of young men lands on the island, triggering an epic, emotional story of love between Prospera’s daughter and a brave young suitor. But theirs is a love that will be put to the test. The couple must face numerous demanding trials and overcome daunting setbacks before they can achieve mutual trust, faith and harmony.

Im Oktober und November finden in diesem Jahr die zwei KANADATAGE der SK Touristik GmbH statt.

„Wie ein Kurzurlaub in Kanada!“ – das begeisterte Resümee einer Besucherin bringt das Prinzip der Kanada-Tage von SK Touristik auf den Punkt.

Wir sind wieder da! Mit fünf Diashows in Multivisionstechnik über alle Provinzen Kanadas und Workshops unseres Teams über Reisearten und – Möglichkeiten im Ahornland. Ganztägig im Foyer: Die Kanada-Reisemesse mit Infoständen von kanadischen Provinzen und Partnern sowie Live-Musik. Am SK-Stand beraten Sie unsere Kanada-Experten persönlich. Auch für das Kulinarische wird gesorgt. Und einmalige Kanadareisen gibt es auch wieder zu gewinnen!

Die Termine sind am Sonntag, 06. November in Münster (Haus der Begegnung, Hohe Geist 8, 48163 Münster Albachten) sowie am Sonntag, 30. Oktober in Stuttgart (Filderhalle, Bahnhofstr. 61, 70771 Leinfelden-Echterdingen) im Zeitraum von 10 bis 18 Uhr.

CIRQUE DU SOLEIL – Amaluna in Düsseldorf und Wien

Der weltbekannte Cirque du Soleil ist wieder in Europa auf Tour.

Die Show Amaluna gibt es in Düsseldorf-Grafental (18. November bis 18. Dezember 2016) und in Wien (10. März 2017 bis 02. April 2017) zu sehen.

Amaluna entführt die Zuschauer auf eine geheimnisvolle Insel, wo Göttinnen herrschen. Deren Königin Prospera inszeniert für ihre Tochter, die zur Frau herangereift ist, ein großes Fest. In einem farbenprächtigen Ritual werden Wissen und Werte so von einer Generation an die nächste weitergegeben.

Nach einem von Prospera heraufbeschworenen Sturm strandet eine Gruppe junger Männer auf der Insel. Diese Ankunft löst eine epische und emotionale Liebesgeschichte zwischen Prosperas Tochter und einem mutigen jungen Verehrer aus. Doch ihre Liebe wird zunächst auf die Probe gestellt. Die beiden sehen sich zahlreichen Herausforderungen gegenüber und müssen Rückschläge überwinden, bevor Vertrauen, Glaube und Harmonie siegen.
